Resort Hosts Two Annual Fun Runs

As part of its active lifestyle initiatives, Grand Traverse Resort and Spa, near Traverse City, annually organizes two 5K fun runs, and the public is invited to participate in them.

The Great Beerd Run will be held on November 14, 2015 on the Resort's grounds. The untimed run celebrates all things Beer and Beard with on-course beer tastings provided by Beards Brewery, Short's Brewery and Right Brain Brewery. The entire course is on Resort property with a post-race tent that features race grub, music, beer and a Best Beard contest with prizes for the best "Natural" and "Assisted" beards. Start Time: 10 a.m. Registration Fee: $40.

The Registration Fee includes race entry, knitted beard beanie, race medal, three (3) beer samples, entrance into post-race party and one glass of beer during the post-race party.

The other race – Stars, Stripes & Splatter – is family-friendly. It takes place on Independence Day and is set up as a color run, with color stations featuring patriotic colors. The color media is food coloring in non-toxic corn starch.
