This November, Paws With A Cause (PAWS) is opening its doors and welcoming the community to celebrate a major milestone. Following the success of the nonprofit's Embrace the Journey capital campaign, PAWS has completed a full renovation of its headquarters and training facility in Wayland—and now the public is invited to see the transformation firsthand.

Join PAWS for one of two open house events:

  • Thursday, November 6, 2025 | 1 – 4 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 8, 2025 | 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Both events are free to attend and will feature guided tours, family-friendly activities, games, food, and opportunities to connect with the PAWS community.

For more than 45 years, PAWS has been at the heart of life-changing partnerships between people and custom-trained assistance dogs. From assistance dogs helping individuals with disabilities live more independently to facility dogs offering comfort and motivation in community spaces, PAWS' work reaches far beyond West Michigan—placing dogs in more than 20 states nationwide. This renovation ensures that PAWS can continue growing in this work, training these extraordinary dogs in an environment designed to support excellence, innovation, and care at every step.

"This project is more than just a building upgrade—it's an investment in the future of every client, volunteer, and dog who comes through our doors," said PAWS CEO, Michele Suchovsky. "We're grateful to everyone who contributed to Embrace the Journey, and now we're eager to share our new space with the community."

The November celebrations will also include a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially mark the next chapter in PAWS' history. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn how the new spaces support the organization's specialized training programs and provide a welcoming, accessible environment for clients, volunteers, and staff.

PAWS encourages guests to RSVP by October 31, 2025, and to bring along family, friends, and neighbors to experience the joy and impact of the renovation. For many in West Michigan, the open houses will offer not just a tour of a building, but a glimpse into the life changing work happening every day inside.
