On Saturday November 9, 2024, GLC Live at 20 Monroe (formerly 20 Monroe Live) will be activated by “Exhibit A”—an ambitiously creative fashion show and dance party featuring Grand Rapids shops, designers and musicians.

Exhibit A is the brainchild of AB, an award-winning DJ, designer, musician and event producer. Over the last decade-plus, AB has worked with almost everyone in the event space—GRAM, ArtPrize, The Pyramid Scheme, DGRI, JW Marriott and more. He’s even serving as the Grand Rapids Griffins Official Game DJ!

In Grand Rapids, it’s like six degrees of separation with AB at this point, and we love that!

Having Grand Rapids roots himself, it’s always been important for AB to bring the community together. Exhibit A offers the chance not only to flex in one’s finest fits and dance all night, but also to enjoy the community of cool creatives that make Grand Rapids special.

Exhibit A is like the Olympics of the Grand Rapids fashion world,” AB shared. “There are eight shops and boutiques participating, and they all have a slightly different client base. It’s going to be fun to mix it up and curate the fashion show while mixing in different DJs, as well—I can’t wait.

“GLC Live is the perfect venue for an event like this because not only does it allow us to have world-class sound, lighting and video, but the runway options are amazing! The sound and views will be awesome for all guests!”

When it comes to music, the legendary SuperDre, AB, The Seventh and more will be spinning a soundtrack that activates the dance floor all night!

Whether it’s a date night, girls’ night out or the last time your crew can connect before the holidays, Exhibit A is where you want to be on Saturday, November 9. Tickets are just $30 and available at The GLC Live at 20 Monroe Box Office or through EverythingAB.com.

Kathleen B. Vogelsang, CFA, is a true believer in remembering where you come from. A first-generation college graduate and non-traditional student, she earned her MBA and CFA designation while raising three children and working full-time. “I started out from very humble beginnings, nothing came easy,” Vogelsang said. “I was the first one in my family to go to college and paid my own way through, starting with community college. I don't ever want to lose sight of who I am; I'm still just humble little me—no matter how many awards I get. [What matters] is who I am … someone who’s trying to do the right thing and be a good person.”

Working out isn’t always some people’s idea of “fun.” For some, working out alone at home or at the gym can feel isolating, whether it’s lack of a routine, accountability, consistency, motivation, confidence, or otherwise. However, for some, working out in a group setting is like hitting a power up button in a video game. You’ve got someone knowledgeable leading you in the right direction, and a community cheering you on as you grow beyond your comfort zone—together! Both mentally and physically, it can be a true game changer.
