GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., January 10, 2021 – West Michigan Woman is now seeking nominations from the community for its sixth annual Brilliance Awards.

The Brilliance Awards recognize the dynamic talent, spirit and intellect of those who tackle issues facing professional women. Focusing on nominees who are committed to creating positive change and excel in their fields, the Brilliance Awards shine a light on women and men within the West Michigan community who truly elevate others and blaze trails of inspiration.

The successes of local women and men are honored across 10 categories. Nominees are top executives, business owners, emerging leaders, team players, mentors, connectors and social change agents.

In 2021, three finalists for each category—the most prestigious being Woman of the Year—were selected from over 280 nominations. As in previous years, all nominations will be carefully considered, and finalists will be determined based on outstanding qualities of leadership, mentorship, service, innovation and tenacity.

"Despite being rescheduled six times, we were thrilled to host the Brilliance Awards in person last year," said Kasie Smith, Serendipity Media president and West Michigan Woman publisher. "It was evident that the authenticity, encouragement and inspiration that the Brilliance Awards brings was needed and cherished. This year, we sincerely look forward to learning more unique stories of triumph, hope and positivity. With much pride, we'll bring those stories to our audience, honoring the well-deserving and perhaps unsung heroes within our community."

Top honorees will be determined by a selection committee of local community leaders and announced at the Brilliance Awards on May 12, 2022 in the Ambassador Ballroom at the Amway Grand Plaza. The in-person event will offer a unique format allowing for ample celebration and networking while prioritizing COVID safety compliance. Additional event details to follow. Table sponsorships and individual tickets are now available for purchase.
