Coming Together to Save Lives

Engage with the West Michigan Woman Community!

The Michigan Affiliate of Susan G. Komen has announced its 2016-2017 Large Grant Recipients. Thanks to Komen Michigan's supporters, the organization was able to fund breast health programs at 15 organizations, for a total investment of $592,054!

Komen Michigan's funding model focuses on filling gaps in services. In 2015, Komen Michigan identified Screening Access, Culturally Appropriate Education and Community Navigation, and Survivorship Programs as areas in need of support.

The Large Grant Recipients are all local Michigan organizations dedicated to helping women and men find breast cancer early through screening, diagnostics, patient navigation and more, while also helping breast cancer survivors reduce their risk of recurrence. These grants will allow the recipient organizations to create or adjust their existing programs with the goal of reducing late-stage diagnosis and breast cancer morality in Michigan.

West Michigan Woman magazine proudly sponsored the 2015 Susan G. Komen Michigan Community Profile Report.
